TECTON II: Pioneering values for the next generation of lighting

We live in a dynamic world characterised by rapid change. New trends, stricter regulations and changing customer requirements are constantly putting established products to the test - and Zumtobel is no exception. To meet these challenges, our lighting experts have continuously developed and optimised the TECTON continuous-row lighting system, originally launched in 2001. Together with the Italian design and engineering company Pininfarina, we are currently developing its successor, TECTON II. The market launch is planned for the middle of next year. This new generation is a fusion of product values that point the way to the future. TECTON II is not only intuitive, but also flexible, customisable, design-oriented, sustainable, robust and future-oriented. What's behind it all? We'll tell you in our monthly blog series.

In a world of constant change, Zumtobel is setting new standards: With the evolution of the successful TECTON light system, Zumtobel, together with design experts at Pininfarina, has created a visionary new generation—one that stands out for intuitive handling, flexibility, sustainable design, and future readiness. In this monthly blog series, you’ll get exciting behind-the-scenes insights.

Intuitive usability is key to success

Intuitive and uncomplicated handling of technical products and solutions is crucial for a positive user experience. In developing the new TECTON II continuous-row lighting system, we have taken this into account and made the new TECTON generation even more user-friendly. Thanks to the consistently used metric system consistently used, the continuous-row lighting system can be installed quickly and easily - without time-consuming cutting and adjustment. Particularly in times of increasing cost and innovation pressure, as well as a shortage of skilled labour, TECTON II offers users greater efficiency and convenience. The improvements ensure an optimised user experience by significantly reducing installation time - a decisive advantage, especially for larger construction projects. In addition, there is no need for time-consuming familiarisation or complex training of installation personnel.

Maximum flexibility for every situation

In addition to intuitiveness, flexibility is another key factor that makes TECTON II a future-proof lighting solution. For us, flexibility means making processes as simple as possible - from planning and installation to subsequent adjustments. The flexibility of the continuous-row lighting system is particularly evident in the possibility of installing up to 75 metres of continuous-row lighting in one continuous-row system. This allows installers to efficiently light large areas without increasing the complexity of the installation. The new trunking extension creates additional space for cabling. This is a great advantage for projects with high technical requirements. Lighting elements can be installed at either the beginningfront or the end of the system, making design and installation even more versatile.

The flexible cable entry options mean that individual sections of the continuou-s row system can be separated at any point in the trunking to suit individual requirements. Finally, the small size of the inlets means that lighting elements can be placed exactly where they are needed.

More than just intuitive and flexible

TECTON II is based on a number of other values that make this continuous-row lighting system an indispensable solution for the future of lighting. In the next blog post in November, we will show you what makes TECTON II so adaptable.
